Farmer Seed and Nursery Company, 1949 ANNUAL CATALOG.  (Faribault, MN: 1949)  large format octavo, 80 pp. + inserts, ill. with color and b&w photos and engravings, color covers.  a typical fruit, vegetable and ornamental catalog of the era intended primarily for farmers and other midwest gardeners.  very good copy in original wraps.  $3

Earl Ferris Nursery, FERRIS PLANTING GUIDE, SPRING 1938.  (Hampton, IO: Earl Ferris Nursery, 1938)  [nursery catalog] 79 pp. + inserts, index, ill. with color & b&w photos, colored pictorial covers.  This attractive catalog covers bulbs, trees, shrubs, and perennials includes planting and landscaping information.  The small folio format, reminiscent of a tabloid newspaper, is quite unusual.  The front cover, showing three young children in the Ferris family in front of a cottage garden, is a remarkable period illustration.  some wear at the spine, o/w a very good copy in original stapled wraps.  $3

Jackson & Perkins Nursery, PARADE OF MODERN ROSES, Perennials, and Fruits, Spring, 1954.  (Newark, NY: Jackson & Perkins, 1944)  large format nursery catalog, 48 pp+ inserts, ill. with color photos throughout.  attractive color cover featuring rose gardens at the world's fair.  a very attractive catalog from a famous rose nursery located at the so-called Rose Capital of America.  a little front cover spotting, o/w a very good copy in original wraps color photographic stapled wraps.  $1

[1933])  31 pp. nursery catalog with order blank, ill. with many b&w and photos; attractive color covers.  an uncommon catalog listing plants for tropical water gardens.  very good copy in original stapled wraps.  $10

J.W. Jung Seed Co., JUNG'S QUALITY SEEDS, 1927.  (Randolph, WI., J.W. Jung Seed Co.)  24 pp. nursery catalog with inserts, well ill. in b&w and color, with colored covers.  an early catalog in a series for the popular market as the firm does today.  staining to top of the last few leaves, a little edge wear, o/w a very good copy in stapled wraps.  $1  

[Knight & Struck Company], THE 'HEATHERHOME' SEED AND PLANT BOOK, 1916.  (NY: Knight & Struck, 1916)  336 pp. index.  an unusual nursery catalog containing detailed descriptions of an exhaustive listing of perennial and annual plants and seeds.  Their conservatories and gardens were located in Flushing, Queens.  wear to edges of back strip and corners, internally a very good copy of a perfect bound work.  $20

Naughton Farms Inc., CATALOG FOR SPRING 1947.  (Waxahachie, TX: Naughton Farms, 1947)  large format octavo, unpaginated [14 pp.,], ill. with many b&w photos, an uncommon catalog from the so-called South's Largest Nursery printed on poor quality wartime paper offering some fruits and a surprisingly wide selection of ornamental plants.  Among the more interesting offerings were showy orchis and pink ladyslipper orchids for 79 cents each; one wonders if any deep south gardeners could provide adequate growing conditions and where their stock came from!  some edge wear but in general a very good copy in original wraps given the poor quality paper.  $1
